Help Engage New Volunteers and Forge New Community Connections!

Do you want to help grow Florida LGBTQ+ people power and connect with other members of the community? Pride month is here, and that means we’re recruiting more volunteers than any other time of the year. That means we need dedicated volunteers like you to help ensure these new volunteers are plugged into the work!

We will be calling newly registered volunteers and helping them navigate their journey as a volunteer. Since phone banking is vital to the growth of any movement, this is an excellent chance not only to meet like-minded peers and build queer people power, but also develop valuable skills for activist work.

We will be providing free food and drinks!!

Don't have experience phonebanking? No problem! Whether you're a veteran phone banker or have never tried it, we NEED your help! We will provide training for inexperienced phone bankers to ensure you start making calls with confidence!

When: Tuesdays July 14 & 28 from 4-7pm

You’re Invited! Advocate for Students and Public Education Local school boards play a critical role in shaping the future of our schools. Decisions about funding, curriculum, and policy directly impact students, families, and communities. Families for Strong Public Schools is expanding its School Board Monitoring Program statewide and is looking for engaged community members to help promote transparency, accountability, and student-centered decision-making. This program empowers volunteers to attend school board meetings, observe discussions, and submit brief monthly reports on key issues, including budget allocations and funding priorities, as well as curriculum and instructional policies, community engagement and transparency. We need advocates who are willing to show up, pay attention, and help ensure decisions are made in the best interest of students and families. Why Get Involved? By participating, you can: 

• Speak up for students and families.
• Monitor whether funding and curriculum decisions meet the needs of all students.
•  Support transparency, equity, and strong public education.

 Your voice matters. When communities show up, school boards listen. Together, we can help ensure local decisions reflect the values and priorities of the people they serve. Let’s build a stronger future for our students—one meeting at a time.

Florida’s vote-by-mail rules have changed, and many Hillsborough County Democrats are no longer signed up to get a mail ballot in 2026. These are some of our most reliable voters—and unless we reach them, many could be left behind. Your quick, helpful conversations will make a real difference.

Where: 1916 Irish Pub 906 W Robertson St, Brandon

Join us on Friday, July 17th as we come together to commemorate the incredible life, radical courage, and enduring legacy of former Congressman John Lewis.

Change starts with community, and community starts with connection. We are bringing together local leaders, advocates, and neighbors for an evening of unity, reflection, and forward momentum. Come straight from work, bring a friend, and let’s keep the legacy alive.

We kick off the night with networking, free appetizers, and drink specials. At 9 PM, DJ Sandman drops a classic 70s/80s/90s R&B soundtrack.

Let’s connect, unite, and build momentum. See you there!
